To describe the Malaysian outlets - press, radio and TV - as ''supportive of the government'' would be a dramatic understatement.
Many Malaysians are probably correct to despise the ''old media''. It isn't allowing a genuine interaction of views to be heard, providing a safety valve allowing challenges to the dominant hierarchy to emerge from within.
